About us

About the Muslim Wellbeing Foundation

Established to improve mental health and wellbeing within Muslim communities. People can face barriers — stigma, lack of awareness, and uncertainty about whether services will understand their values and beliefs. Many skilled professionals already do valuable work; MWF helps connect, strengthen and develop this wider ecosystem.

Our purpose

Improving access to high-quality support

Our purpose is to improve access to high-quality mental health and wellbeing support for Muslim communities by:

  1. 01Raising awareness and improving understanding of mental health
  2. 02Supporting culturally and faith-sensitive practice
  3. 03Developing education and training for professionals
  4. 04Encouraging appropriate standards, supervision and quality assurance
  5. 05Supporting collaboration between mental health professionals and Islamic scholars
  6. 06Undertaking and sharing research
  7. 07Helping connect people to appropriate services and sources of support
Our vision

A world where Muslims can access mental health and wellbeing support that respects their faith, culture and lived experience.
